So many things and so little time.......
May 27, 2008
The last four days have been so busy! Joe (my husband) had the last four days off and thank God for it. He is so busy at work that it was nice to have him home for a long weekend! On Friday we took Molly (the dog) in for her second eye surgery. Her eyelids got infected so they have to go in and fix them. Unfortunately, the first one didn't work so into the vet she went again. But our vet is so wonderful and didn't charge us for anything because it didn't work the first time. Then, we had a baby shower next door to go to, took Ryan to the park and swimming, spent some time over at my parents house, cleaned, and I forgot to mention the craziest thing....
So (I know I use that word a lot), my husband, Ryan, and I were on our way over to a friends house and Joe was hungry so we went through the drive through at Whataburger. He was ordering when these two B-rads (if you don't know what that means watch Malibu's Most Wanted or Google it) walked right by my truck. Now, they were so close that they could probably see the items in my center console. When they were walking up it made me really uncomfortable and Joe hesitated while ordering until they passed by. Now, a man who was bald and dressed nice (kinda) was walking a little behind them with a clipboard. Joe finishes ordering and we get our food and pull around to go on our way. Now, for you who don't know, Wal-Mart is right behind Whataburger so now we were going towards the Wal-Mart parking lot. Joe said, "look, they're fighting" and we could see those guys who just passed our truck yelling and whatnot. We sat there trying to figure out what was going on and we realize that my brothers truck was over there. So we pulled around to see what was going on and were told that these two guys had tried to steal a TV and computer from Wal-Mart and the guy with the clipboard was trying to catch them. My brother, whose in the Army, was getting gas and saw these two guys start trying to fight the guy with the clipboard so he ran over there and got one of them in some kind of hold and laid him face down on the concrete. While on the ground the guy was yelling all sorts of stuff to everyone around. Now, while that was going on we realize that the other b-rad was no where to be seen. He had a buddy of his come pick him up and with all the commotion from his friend nobody noticed it till he was already gone. The police finally came and the arrested the guy but geez! My husband joked with my brother saying, "Why is it that the Ross family (my family) always seem to attract cops and fights?" If you don't know my family they are famous for drinking and then dancing in the garage for hours on end and sometimes or sometimes not the cops may show up. But anyways, it was crazy! The funniest part was when the cops came and the guy on the ground told him, "I'm going to call my mom and she's going to come and kick your a#$!" And, he meant it! So, we left there, went to the friends for a couple hours, and then came home. For the last couple weekends Joe hasnt gotten any firefighter calls the that night he got one so back out he went.
Now to other news, Ryan is so smart! We got him this toy (Alphabet Town) and it has taught him how to recognize his letters and even say some of them. For a 23 month old I think that's pretty impressive! Its so funny because the game will say, "I start with the letter R" and then make a sound and he pushed the letter R for the right answer and it claps for him. I am going to try to start potty training him next week but am clueless as to how to do it! Neither my husband or I have grown up around kids or been around them so I guess I am going to have to use the tips from my brother as well as look online for info about it. I am excited about it though because diapers are so expensive it will be nice to start getting him out of them!
My favorite Hollywood couple is and has always been Will Smith and Jada Pinkette Smith. He was on Ellen yesterday and I just love hearing him talk about his marriage. They have been married for ten years and he said that they just don't let divorce be an option for their marriage. I love that and actually think its a great idea! Here is the video clip of him on Ellen if you want to watch: Will Smith on Ellen. It broken up into three sections but the second one is when he talks about it. He also (on the first one) talks about something funny that happened to him and Jada (adults ears only).
I didn't watch the Bacholorette yet but DVR'ed it and will watch it today :)
