Paul Hamm will not be competing in the US Olympic Trials!
May 23, 2008
Paul Hamm has broken a bone in his right hand that will take at least four to six weeks to recover from. He was on the parallel bars competing in the US Chapmpionships when he jammed the fingers on his right hand and heard what he called a "small popping sound in the joint". The Olympic Trials are going to be held June 19-22 in which we will not be able to compete. From whats reported he will be able to petition to be on the team and try to prove that he will be ready when the games begin. In every meet he has competed in this year he has dominated over his competitors. Hamm was part of a team that won the silver medal in the 2004 Olympics, he also won gold in the all around and silver on the high bar. I remember watching him and his brother during the last olympics and hope he can recover and compete at the 2008 games!
